What is Sacramelanin?

A remix-able identity project rooted in Sacramento. Built from soil, story, and self-expression. It lives through clothing, culture, and collective contribution.

Melanin is skin—rooted in the science of pigment. And in Sacramelanin, it also means soul, soil, and story. It honors the bodies shaped by migration, colonial labor, resistance, and survival—from Indigenous peoples to refugees, immigrants, and the descendants of the enslaved. It reflects the lived histories of those who made Sacramento home, not by accident, but through resilience. Sacramelanin is pigment with purpose.

When is the first drop?

The visual identity is protected under U.S. copyright.
Trademark registration is in progress.
Commercial usage without permission violates these protections.

Is this a clothing brand?

Yes—and no. It’s a design project first.
Apparel is one way to carry it. Remixing is another.
We offer official drops, but encourage you to rep it on your terms.

Can I collaborate or contribute designs?

We’re open to collaboration, but intentionally slow.
